Cheltenham police interrupted the unnamed trio during a catalytic converter theft at the Melrose Park Train Station around 10:25 a.m. on April 5, local police said.
Their car, a Toyota Yaris, had a pair of Sawzall's in possession of the two men, along with numerous other tools from bags they were carrying, authorities said.
A search of the backpacks and car yielded credit cards that were taken from other thefts from vehicles, police said. Detectives were working to tie the individuals to other thefts in the area.
